Intercoolers
is it a case of, 'The bigger, the better'
or is there a size limit for any given vehicle before it becomes pointless?
Obvoiusly having the required ammount of space to fit it is an issue, i know.

depends what your wanting from this mate....
if you want better power big intercooler is better, but if your looking for better throttle response then this is not always the case as you want a smaller volume between the throttle and the cylinder and the intercooler sits in between both adding to the mass volume
hope this helps?
Re: Intercoolers
I was talking to a mate about this the other day. there seems to be a science behind choosing the most suitable 'cooler.
as you said Boss, it depends what it wanted.
tbh, i'm quite happy with the power at the moment, but i know further down the line i'll want a re-map.
The only issue i have is due to the intercooler being so puney at the moment (it's one of those handbag sized ones in the drivers wing) that it cant reduce air temps effectively enough during hot days.
Comming out of carmarthen last week i noticed a significant reduction in the 'kick' from the turbo comming on boost, and then a flat spot around 3,000rpm. She came back on boost but then it dies off after 4200.
I'd like to keep my current response as much as possible on the throttle but cool the air temp down as effective or as much as possible without major sacrifice

Re: Intercoolers
yeah man i would defo look into changing the intercooler in that case i would make sure you look into all the right things first
with the a decent intercooler your going to keep the warm air cooler giving you the results you want

Re: Intercoolers
First up on my list is a Boost guage. Found one that closely resembles the standard toledo clocks (the red/orange glow and red needles) to keep it semi-OEM looking. Just need to work out where the mount it. I'm thinking more towards an A-pillar pod tbh
Got a few important things to get out the way first, Tyres, Tax and Cam-belt (as it looks way over-due)
after that i'll get cracking with the intercooler.
This is the sort of thing i'm looking at at the moment...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350355802646&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Or a slightly smaller one, but a odd looking design...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260653155457&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Aiming for about 135-145bhp...thereabouts

Was £180 when I got mine but I believe Gaz is right now, if you want to know what the kit contains look on forge's website and search "seat sport"
