Lack of boost
When i first had my Toledo a week ago it went like stink
you could floor it in any gear, you'd suffer the lag and then 'foom' the boost would kick in and it'd be away, pouring on the speed.
Now, all of a sudden, it seems to have softened out, the boost comes in much more gently and dosn't seem to have the get up and go that it did before
at first i thought it was simply due to the hot weather at the time and a puney intercooler.
Just had a new air filter and diesel filter and it's a little better but not great.
I can hear the turbo spooling up and the hissy-whine of boost comming through, but it's lacking that certain something now.
I thought at one stage it was simply me getting used to it, but my gf jumped in the other day and said it felt sluggish
Fuel system is apparently self bleeding (there's no obvious way of bleeding it further)
The only thing (service-wise) i've got left to do is Oil+filter change and re-set the service indicator in 1500 miles. But it'll be done before that
Could it be the service indicator taming the power? it's not in limp home mode and no codes show up anywhere on vag-com

Re: Lack of boost
There seems to be no abnormal "Hiss" of boost gasses
the car still comes on boost, but it's simply a lot softer than before.
Had one guy on another forum suggest egr valve, but i'm not convinced.
Tombombvw mentioned waste-gate slightly stuck open...plausable?
I'm exploring all possibilities to get a list fo things to check before actually diving in and ripping things apart, 'cos i dont wanna be on and off the ramps daily.

Re: Lack of boost
had an interesting chat with a local mechanic to me.
might be a long shot but he suggested the locking nut comming loose on the actuator tod.
Apparently he had a Discovery come into his garage earlier in the year which had been back to landrover twice for soft boosting problems, and thats all it turned out to be. gonna whack it up on the ramps and check that over the weekend.
I'll give your method a go dave, see how it goes. it's gotta be something silly imo
